In addition to the beautiful scenery and fresh air, regular walks and hikes, an impressive variety of activities were awaiting me at the Pontet leisure park. A climbing wall, swimming lake, fishing lake , mini golf, tree-top adventure course , trampolines etc. The Pontet Leisure Park is an area for both activity and relaxation and it’s really hard to get bored! Below is a short summary of the activities I tested during my stay.
One of the two lakes in the park is specifically designed for swimming. It boasts a beautiful lawn, a sandy beach and clear fresh water! Parents will be pleased to know that there’s a lifeguard on duty. I spent a very relaxing day reading, sunbathing and swimming .
The tree-top adventure trail was great fun! An instructor shows you how to use the equipment and then off you go! A body harness, gloves and helmet are provided. A fun circuit from tree to tree: zip lines, Tarzan jumps and bridges. A nice activity to share with family or friends, great fun and quite challenging. Not to be missed!
The Duchère climbing wall is visible from the entrance of the park and accessible on foot. It’s a very beautiful rock wall on the edge of the forest. The routes vary in difficulty from 4a to 6 c, there’s something for everyone. I recommend that beginners use a guide or a specialized instructor. They propose lessons inclusive of equipment rental. Experienced climbers also use the wall to climb with family or friends. Whatever your level just remember that the effort is worthwhile when you reach the top. From here climbers can enjoy a beautiful view of the park and Notre Dame de La Gorge.
Personally, I had a great holiday. The days flew by between walks and activities and I still haven’t done everything there is to do in the park. I’ve a good excuse to return next summer!
