La Gélinote is a small, simple yet comfortable, family-run hotel. The view of the Domes of the Miage is fantastic and the welcome is warm. You won’t regret your choice.
The food is generously served and good quality. Mahamadou, the head chef, proposes good traditional regional cuisine and some exotic dishes. Every Monday he serves African specialties.
During the winter, Philippe can teach you to ski on the slopes of Les Contamines.
We stay here with a group of federal ski instructors at the beginning of every winter season. And every year we come back !
In the summer months, the hotel accommodates numerous hikers on the famous ‘Tour du Mont-Blanc” trail (not only). In the winter guests can enjoy a ski holiday here.
The hotel is run by the same people since December 1995: Beatrice, her husband Mahamadou and her brother Phillipe. It was created by the Rey family. Regis and Robert Rey are both former ski jumping champions and important figures of Les Contamines.
The entire family is very involved in the humanitarian cause: Beatrice and Philippe are members of an association to support the schooling of girls in MALI. A meal is organized every year to raise funds. Philippe, a ski instructor, accompanies groups of disabled on the slopes in winter and to Morocco in the summer.
Noha, Beatrice and Mahamadou’s son, is a member of the local ski club. He’s passionate about skiing but also about ski- jumping (a popular sport in Les Contamines – Coline Matel was bronze medalist at the last winter Olympics) and Telemark. Julia, their daughter, worked at the Tourist Office in Les Contamines last winter. She is studying marketing and communications at present.
Beatrice and her family welcome you summer and winter. They take great pleasure in making your stay a memorable one.
